Meet the Artist

My name is Carol Tessier. I was born and raised in West Vancouver, and now live with my husband in beautiful Penticton, British Columbia, spending the winter months in Huatulco, Mexico.

I am a bone cancer survivor (1979), and after my last operation in 2013 I started painting. Having worked in pottery years ago, and with an artistic flair for things, it was an easy transition, and something that kept my artistic juices flowing.

I paint mostly in acrylics, although I have done a few watercolours in the past. You'll see that my collection is mostly birds: I love their beauty and spirit, and their feathers, colours and movement inspire my sense of texture and freedom. Each painting reflects the deep connection I feel to the natural world, capturing both its energy and its serenity.

Alongside my expressive bird portraits, I have also painted turtles, landscapes and other parts of nature that appeal to my senses. I hope they appeal to you too, and that you'll pause to reflect on and appreciate the quiet details of life in nature.
